SAN ANTONIO — Logan Paul filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Stephen Findeisen in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in San Antonio. The lawsuit alleges Findeisen's YouTube series, published in December 2022, falsely characterized a cryptocurrency project as a deliberate fraud conceived and carried out by Paul.
Paul is seeking actual and compensatory damages exceeding $75,000, in addition to punitive damages. A hearing on the lawsuit is scheduled for Monday afternoon in a San Antonio courtroom. Findeisen operates a YouTube channel named Coffeezilla and published a three-part series titled "Investigating Logan Paul's Biggest Scam."
Court filings state Paul never sold a ZOO Token and lost more than $1 million on the project. The lawsuit argues Findeisen's series omitted internal communications indicating Paul was deceived by two project advisors, Eddie Ibanez and Jake Greenbaum. The lawsuit alleges Ibanez and Greenbaum secretly sold ZOO Tokens for personal profit, each earning over $1 million from the sales.
In January 2023, Paul announced a buyback program for CryptoZoo NFT holders, using up to $2.3 million of his own funds. This buyback concluded in March 2024, distributing more than $1 million in Ethereum to eligible holders. The lawsuit claims Findeisen continued publishing content accusing Paul of fraud even after the buyback program concluded. Findeisen said, "Logan Paul really is the type of dude to thank you when you expose his scam, then block you when you remind him to pay up."
