HOUSTON — London Hogan faces charges of murder, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a fatal shooting in Houston on Saturday. Louis Erebia was fatally shot during an attempt to recover his son's stolen pickup truck.

The initial carjacking occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on the 11800 block of Tidwell Road. A suspect used a firearm to steal a blue Chevrolet Silverado from a man who was refueling the vehicle. The owner of the truck then tracked the stolen vehicle using a GPS application.

Erebia and a family friend located the stolen truck near Loop 610 and Airline Drive. The vehicle became disabled after it crashed near a gas station. Two suspects exited the crashed vehicle and then ran toward the gas station.

Erebia and his family friend pursued the suspects on foot. During a confrontation, a suspect discharged a firearm, striking both Erebia and his family friend. "The male suspect had produced a firearm, discharging the firearm and the victims sustained a gunshot wound." Detective Sergio Torres said.

Erebia died from his injuries at a hospital. The family friend survived the incident and was listed in stable condition.

A probable cause hearing for Hogan was held on Monday morning, where a judge informed him of the charges. Hogan told the court he plans to request a court-appointed attorney, and a trial court will make bond decisions. Court records indicate Hogan is currently on a five-year felony deferred adjudication from a March 2024 assault case.
