SILVERTOWN — Mark Orabiyi, a musician known as Talay Riley, died at the age of 35 after paramedics found him with stab wounds in Silvertown, east London, on the morning of 5 June. Police were called to Pankhurst Avenue at approximately 9 a.m. regarding a stabbing.

Paramedics pronounced Orabiyi dead at the scene, after he was discovered in the garden of a property on Rayleigh Road. The Metropolitan Police have initiated an investigation into his death.

Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of murder on 5 June. A 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were released without further action. A 27-year-old man was released on bail as inquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke is leading the investigation. Yorke said, "This is a tragic incident and my thoughts remain with Mark's family and loved ones." She said, "Our investigation continues at pace." Yorke added, "I would like to appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident to speak to police. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might have CCTV or other footage from the morning of the incident that could assist our investigation."

Orabiyi held songwriting credits for various artists including Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Britney Spears, and Craig David. He also contributed to tracks such as Khalid's "Young Dumb & Broke," the Chainsmokers' "Who Do You Love," H.E.R.'s "Lights On," and Kehlani's "Out the Window."

Michael Orabiyi, a record producer, spoke about the impact of the death. He said, "My heart is shattered! This doesn't feel real. It feels like a bad dream." He noted they had discussed future plans just prior to the incident. He said, "Just before he went to sleep we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do."

Musician Kehlani said, "Big hugs Scribs I'm so sorry."
