HOUSTON — London Hogan appeared before a judge for a probable cause hearing on Monday morning in connection with the death of Louis Erebia. Hogan faces charges of murder, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A district court judge informed Hogan during the hearing about the charges. Hogan requested a court-appointed attorney, and a judge will determine if bond will be set in the case. Court records show the case was assigned to District Court 339, and Hogan is currently under deferred adjudication for a felony assault case filed in March 2024.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office began investigating an aggravated robbery at the 11800 block of Tidwell Road around 2 p.m. on Saturday. A victim was pumping gasoline into a blue Chevrolet Silverado when an armed suspect approached and stole the vehicle. The victim tracked the stolen truck using a GPS application.
Louis Erebia and a family friend used the GPS information to locate the stolen truck near Loop 610 and Airline Drive. Investigators stated the stolen truck became immobilized after a collision. Two suspects fled the crashed vehicle and ran toward a nearby Chevron gas station, with Erebia pursuing them.
"The male suspect pulled out a firearm and shot, causing gunshot wounds to the victims," Detective Sergio Torres said. Erebia and a family friend were struck by gunfire during the confrontation. Erebia died at a hospital from his gunshot wounds, while the second gunshot victim survived and was reported in stable condition. The suspects fled the scene in another vehicle, and authorities previously reported searching for a man and a woman who fled in a black pickup truck. The Harris County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the case.
