Singer Osher Biton won NIS 40 million in the Mifal Hapayis Lotto draw on June 7, 2026. This win ended a series of 16 consecutive draws without a first-prize winner.

The NIS 40 million payout marked the largest lottery jackpot in Israel since 2024. The amount represents the legal maximum prize for the regular Lotto draw. Biton posted an image of his winning ticket on Instagram.

The winning ticket matched six standard numbers and the designated strong number. The probability of matching these numbers on a single Lotto ticket is 1 in 16,273,488. "I guess I’m a millionaire now?" Biton said.

Prior to this win, the first prize jackpot was valued at NIS 30 million on May 18, 2026. Major lottery winnings in Israel are subject to a 35 percent tax and a 5 percent surtax, resulting in a total 40 percent tax burden.

Other participants also received prizes in the June 7, 2026, draw. A second participant won NIS 375,000 by matching six numbers without the strong number. Additionally, 79 participants matched five numbers and the strong number, each winning NIS 6,748, while 352 participants matched five numbers to win NIS 964 each.

The legal maximum prize for the Double Lotto draw is NIS 80 million. In December 2024, the jackpot remained at its maximum prize level for eight consecutive draws. That previous maximum jackpot run concluded in mid-January 2025 when a winner claimed an NIS 40 million prize.
