PARIS — Mirra Andreeva defeated Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 to win the 2026 French Open women's singles title. The 19-year-old Russian became the youngest women's singles champion at the French Open since Monica Seles in 1992.

Andreeva is the first Russian woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Maria Sharapova in 2014. She is also the first Grand Slam champion born after 2005. Andreeva was seeded No. 8 in the tournament. She is the 12th teenager to win the French Open women's singles title, and her victory marks the sixth consecutive Grand Slam event to feature a different champion.

The match lasted for one hour and 22 minutes. The opening games featured four consecutive breaks of service. Andreeva secured the championship point by breaking Chwalinska at love in the final game. Andreeva won 34 of 54 points played on Chwalinska's serve.

During the final, Andreeva recorded 25 winners and 26 unforced errors. Chwalinska recorded 10 winners and 29 unforced errors. Actor Brad Pitt was present in the audience for the women's final.

Chwalinska is a 24-year-old Polish tennis player who entered the tournament as a qualifier. She was ranked 114th in the world prior to the French Open. Chwalinska is the first player in the Open era to reach a Grand Slam final after starting in qualifying. She defeated Diana Shnaider in the semifinals and will rise to a world ranking of 21 following the tournament. Andreeva lives and trains in France, and Conchita Martinez serves as her coach.
