KEMBLE, GLOUCESTERSHIRE — Peter Phillips married Harriet Sperling at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by over 100 guests, including King Charles III and other senior members of the British Royal Family.
King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Catherine, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Zara Tindall, and Mike Tindall were among those in attendance. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson were not invited to the wedding. Royal commentator Emily Nash said, "What we were told was that Peter had not spoken to Harry for the last few years. And so it sort of has been a natural cooling off and he wasn't invited as a result."
The marriage marks the second for both Phillips, 48, and Sperling, 45. Phillips was previously married to Autumn Kelly. Sperling was previously married to fitness instructor Antonio St. John Sperling. Phillips and Sperling began dating approximately one year prior to their wedding.
Phillips is the eldest son of Princess Anne and her first husband Mark Phillips. He is also the eldest grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II and is currently 19th in the line of succession to the British throne. Phillips and Autumn Kelly have two daughters, Savannah and Isla. Sperling has a daughter named Georgina from her previous marriage. Savannah, Isla, and Georgina served as bridesmaids during the ceremony.
Sperling, who works as a pediatric nurse for the National Health Service, wore a bridal gown designed by Emilia Wickstead. The gown was made of Italian ivory crepe and featured lace detailing and a long train. Heavy rain fell after the ceremony as guests threw rose petals over the couple during their departure. Nash said, "Peter is very loyal; he is very protective. He has been a very good sounding board to his cousin over the years."
