SAN ANTONIO — A shooting involving vehicles occurred on Memorial Day on northbound Interstate 35 near Division Avenue in San Antonio. Authorities have not made an arrest in connection with the incident, and no charges have been filed.

San Antonio police classified the incident as aggravated assault involving the discharge of a firearm from a motor vehicle at another vehicle, causing serious bodily injury. The victim, identified by the pseudonym Jake, requested anonymity. Bullet holes were documented in the vehicle near the driver's side.

He called 911 to report the vehicle description of a blue Dodge Hornet and followed the suspect. A dispatcher instructed him to stop following the vehicle. He then waited for officers in a parking lot near Cevallos Street and Interstate 10.

Jake described the interaction leading to the shooting. "He was probably doing about 20, 30 miles an hour entering the highway. At that point, all I did I flashed my lights at this individual, and when I passed him up on the left-hand side, I slightly looked to the right-hand on my passenger side, and I saw this man shooting me two double birds." He said.

A detective informed him that investigators spoke with a person matching the suspect and vehicle description. "He did this to me; maybe he’s done it to other people, but maybe no one wanted to come forward, no one wanted to chase this man down." He said. He plans to install dash cameras on his vehicles. San Antonio police reported nine cases this year involving gunfire discharged from one vehicle at another.
