GAZA CITY — A missile struck a residential building in Gaza City during Eid al-Adha celebrations, killing seven people and injuring eighteen. Two children and two women were among the fatalities.

Widad Al-Husari, 31, was on the building's rooftop with her husband, children, and extended family when the missile hit. Al-Husari and her three-year-old son, Rafiq, fell through a hole in the roof created by the missile. She clung to protruding metal rods before her husband and brothers pulled her to safety. Al-Husari sustained injuries to her back, legs, and body from contact with the rods.

Al-Husari's four-year-old niece, Sara al-Khalout, was thrown into a courtyard by the blast. Al-Khalout sustained serious injuries and required treatment in an intensive care unit.

"I lived through moments of hell, like a horror movie, and I still suffer from severe pain and fear to this moment. We were sitting eating Eid sweets, then suddenly everything turned into screams," Al-Husari said.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza began in October 2025. Since that time, approximately 930 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 2,800 have been injured in continued strikes. "Anyone who says the war has ended is lying. The ceasefire is a big lie, we live in daily fear, and there is no safe place," Al-Husari said.

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights stated that continuous attacks on residential blocks in Gaza create conditions incompatible with human existence and dignity. The organization also stated that evacuation warnings do not provide legal justification for destroying homes or removing civilian protections under international humanitarian law.
