BUTLER COUNTY — Four registered sex offenders were arrested in Butler County between May 13 and May 19. The arrests occurred over a period of seven days. The arrests were conducted by local and federal authorities. The operation targeted individuals who had failed to update their address information with authorities. All four individuals were taken into custody during the operation.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office Warrants Division and Detectives Division conducted the arrests in conjunction with federal partners. The U.S. Marshals Service Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team also conducted the arrests. The agencies worked together during the operation to locate the individuals.

The charges followed investigations by the Butler County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registration and Notification Unit. A Butler County Grand Jury indicted the four arrested men. The men were indicted on felony warrants. The sheriff's office announced the indictments following the grand jury action.

Investigators determined the offenders were no longer living at the addresses they had reported to authorities. Under current Ohio law, registered sex offenders are required to notify authorities when they change residences. The charges stemmed from the individuals' failure to provide a change of address.

Charles Amburgey, age 49, was arrested on a felony warrant for failure to provide a change of address. Tyler Beard, age 34, was arrested on a felony warrant for failure to provide a change of address. Bruce Miles, age 53, was arrested on a felony warrant for failure to provide a change of address. Shawn Folsom, age 47, was arrested on a felony warrant for failure to provide a change of address.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones commented on the arrests and the enforcement efforts regarding sex offender registration. Jones said, "These sexual predators are required to tell us where they live, and we're going to make sure they do. If they fail to do this, we'll succeed in finding them."
