DAYTON — The Dayton Flyers men's basketball players reported to campus for the start of the summer practice period on the weekend of May 31, 2026. The University of Dayton's official social media accounts shared photos and videos that day of returning players and newcomers arriving on campus.

Dayton officially announced the signing of six transfer players who committed during a six-day period in April 2026. The group includes guards Travis Perry, Tristian Ford, Zaide Lowery, and Landen Joseph, as well as forwards Jalen Haynes and Grant Randall.

Travis Perry is a 6-foot-1 guard who has played at Kentucky and Mississippi. Tristian Ford is a 6-foot-3 guard who redshirted as a freshman at Murray State. Zaide Lowery is a 6-foot-5 guard who played at Marquette for the past three seasons. Landen Joseph is a 6-foot-2 guard who played his freshman season at Marshall. Grant Randall is a 6-foot-9 forward who played his first two seasons at Quinnipiac. Jalen Haynes is a 6-foot-8 forward who sat out the 2025–26 season at Cincinnati due to a knee injury.

Jalen Haynes shared a photo on Instagram over the weekend of May 31, 2026, showing him lying in bed with his knee wrapped and elevated. "Two surgeries in 8 months is something I could (not) ever imagine in my basketball career. I thank God for giving me the strength to keep going and for the ones who forgot about me, it's gonna be a scary sight."

Although head coach Anthony Grant said on May 4, 2026, that Haynes had not yet signed with Dayton, the forward has since joined the program. The summer practice period for the Flyers lasts eight weeks, beginning earlier than the team’s typical mid-June start and concluding in the first week of August.
