CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA — Preston Stout won the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Golf individual title at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. He became the 10th individual NCAA champion in Oklahoma State history.
Stout, a junior at Oklahoma State, entered the national championship with a 69.08 stroke average during the 2025–2026 college golf season. He recorded four wins over the course of that season, culminating in his performance at the NCAA finals.
The 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships were held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, where Stout secured medalist honors in the individual competition.
Stout previously won medalist honors at the 2025 U.S. Amateur. He also claimed a title at the Northeast Amateur, further establishing his standing among the nation's top collegiate players.
His success has extended to international team competitions as well. Stout was a member of the U.S. Walker Cup team, representing the United States in the biennial amateur team event. He also competed as part of the World Amateur Team Championship squad, gaining experience on the global stage.
Oklahoma State has a storied history in collegiate golf, and Stout’s victory continues the program’s tradition of producing national champions. His consistent performance throughout the 2025–2026 season positioned him as one of the top contenders heading into the NCAA tournament.
Stout’s four season victories included wins at the OFCC Fighting Illini Invitational, the Amer Ari Invitational, the Big 12 Match Play Championship, and the ASU Thunderbird Invitational, demonstrating his ability to excel across varied formats and courses.
