MILWAUKEE — The San Francisco Giants placed reliever Joel Peguero on the 60-day injured list with a left hamstring strain and selected right-handed pitcher Wilkin Ramos and infielder Buddy Kennedy from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday in Milwaukee. The team also designated catcher Logan Porter for assignment and had optioned catcher Jesús Rodríguez to Sacramento the previous day.

Peguero, 29, left the Giants' 19-6 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday after sustaining the injury while fielding an infield single by Tyler Freeman in the eighth inning. He posted a 2.38 ERA across 11 appearances this season and had previously dealt with a hamstring strain during spring training that delayed his 2026 debut.

“I think this is something we’ve got to get past, or he needs to get past. As long as his lower half is right, everybody knows what he’s capable of doing with his arm, or upper half,” Giants manager Tony Vitello said.

Ramos, 25, will make his major league debut after recording a 3-1 record with a 2.33 ERA in 17 relief outings for Sacramento. He struck out 27 batters and walked seven over 27 innings this season. “It’s a great feeling, a unique feeling,” Ramos said.

Kennedy, 27, joined the Giants after batting .321 with a .424 on-base percentage, .543 slugging percentage, eight home runs, 33 RBIs and five stolen bases in 48 games with Sacramento. Last season, he went 2 for 29 in 13 major league games split between Philadelphia, Toronto and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Porter, 30, appeared in one game for the Giants this season and hit .241 with a .292 on-base percentage, one home run and 10 RBIs in 17 games at Triple-A. Rodríguez, 24, batted .231 with a .302 on-base percentage, two homers, seven RBIs and one steal in 14 games with San Francisco before his option to Sacramento.
