LA JOLLA — Sentry Insurance is the new title sponsor of the PGA Tour tournament at Torrey Pines, which will be held January 27–30, 2027. The event, now named The Sentry, will take place on both the North and South courses at the municipal golf facility in San Diego.

The PGA Tour moved the tournament to Torrey Pines after Farmers Insurance chose not to renew its title sponsorship. The 2027 edition will mark the 60th time the event has been held at Torrey Pines, a venue that has hosted the U.S. Open in 2008 and 2021 and has been part of the PGA Tour schedule since 1968. The San Diego tournament dates back to 1952.

The Sentry will be the second tournament of the 2027 PGA Tour season, scheduled one week after The American Express in La Quinta, California. The event will conclude on Saturday to avoid conflicting with the NFL’s conference championship games. The placement of The Sentry on the tour schedule beyond 2027 has not yet been determined as the PGA Tour develops a revamped structure that could begin as early as 2028.

Sentry Insurance previously served as title sponsor of the tournament held at Kapalua on Maui, starting in 2018. That event began as a winners-only field before expanding to include the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings. The Kapalua tournament was not held in 2026 due to a water dispute that made it unlikely the Plantation Course could be ready in time. The PGA Tour has since discontinued the Hawaii swing, which included both the Kapalua event and the Sony Open on Oahu.

The Century Club of San Diego will continue to operate the tournament. “We’re excited to partner with Sentry, a longtime partner of the PGA Tour, and widely known for their reputation for impactful community engagement.” said Marty Gorsich, CEO of the Century Club of San Diego. “For 75 years the PGA Tour has hosted elite competition in San Diego, including the last 60 at revered Torrey Pines, and we are proud to build upon that legacy and longtime philanthropic impact with our partners at Sentry Insurance.” PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said in a release.
