Dell is relaunching the XPS 13 laptop in July 2026 with a starting price of $699 and a student promotional price of $599 available through September 2026. The return of the XPS 13 marks a revival of the brand after Dell discontinued the XPS line entirely in 2025.
The new XPS 13 will be Dell’s thinnest and lightest XPS model to date, measuring 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) thick and weighing 2.2 pounds (1 kg). It features a 13.4-inch anti-glare touchscreen with 2560 x 1600 resolution, a variable refresh rate between 30 and 120Hz, 500 nits of brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. The base configuration includes an Intel Core 5 320 “Wildcat Lake” six-core processor, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
Higher-end configurations, arriving after the initial launch, will use Intel Panther Lake processors and support up to 32GB of RAM. All models come with a backlit keyboard and two USB-C ports but omit a 3.5mm audio jack. Dell claims the XPS 13 delivers up to 17 hours of “streaming” battery life.
Dell COO Jeff Clarke positioned the XPS 13 as a competitor to Apple’s MacBook Neo during a media briefing. "We’re targeting the MacBook Neo directly," Clarke said. He added that the XPS 13 is lighter than the MacBook Neo and includes features the Apple device lacks, such as a backlit keyboard and more configurable hardware options.
The XPS 13’s reintroduction follows Dell’s earlier return to the XPS lineup with the XPS 14 and XPS 16 models unveiled at CES 2026. Dell discontinued the XPS brand in 2025 before reintroducing larger models earlier this year.
