GALLOWAY, NEW JERSEY — Celine Boutier rallied from a four-shot deficit to win the ShopRite LPGA by one shot over Arpichaya Yubol on June 2, 2024, in Galloway, New Jersey. Boutier shot a 5-under 66 in the final round to finish at 9-under 204, claiming her seventh LPGA Tour title.
Soo Bin Joo entered the final round with a four-shot lead but lost it at the turn. Joo made bogey on the par-4 eighth hole, giving Boutier a share of the lead. Joo caught Boutier with a birdie on the ninth hole but couldn’t keep up for the rest of the round.
Boutier finished the front nine with two straight birdies to reach 7 under. She hit her approach to 4 feet for birdie on the 10th hole. The decisive moment came on the 13th hole, where Boutier sank a 30-foot birdie putt to take the lead. On the same hole, Joo took a double bogey after missing the fairway, pitching back to the fairway, sending her wedge over the green, chipping 8 feet past the hole, and missing the return putt.
Boutier missed a 4-foot birdie putt on the final hole but still held on for victory. Yubol birdied the last two holes to finish with a 66, securing solo second place. This marked Yubol’s second runner-up finish of the year, following a four-shot loss to Nelly Korda in Mexico. Lauren Walsh finished third with a score of 67, while Joo tied for fourth place.
"To have a chance to win today is definitely something very special," said Celine Boutier. "I think it’s great tournament, very special for me, so really excited to be able to have another win here." Boutier also won the ShopRite LPGA five years ago.
Joo, who was seeking her first LPGA Tour victory, reflected on her performance. "It was so fun. It was my first time leading the tournament, and I think I did my best out there as much as I can and I prepared well and I’m very proud of myself. I was trying to do my best to stay mentally calm, and I think I still got to work on that a little more," she said.
Boutier now has seven career LPGA Tour titles and 12 worldwide victories. Her best finish in her first 10 tournaments of the year had been a tie for ninth. The ShopRite LPGA is one of two 54-hole events on the LPGA Tour schedule.
