NEW CANEY — A 15-year-old boy was found dead in front of a home on Stevens Road in New Caney, Texas, on Saturday evening. Responding deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office discovered the teen had a gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The homeowner discovered the deceased teenager around 11:30 p.m. while returning to their residence in the 20700 block of Stevens Road. Deputies administered life-saving measures at the scene, though the victim, identified as a 15-year-old Black male, was pronounced dead.

Major Crimes detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the location following the initial response. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation into the incident.
