LOS ANGELES — 007 First Light sold 1.5 million units within its first 24 hours of release and became IO Interactive’s fastest-selling title ever. The game launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
It is the first James Bond video game released in 15 years. In 007 First Light, players experience James Bond’s origin story as a 26-year-old going through MI6’s elite training program. An official description states: “For the first time in video games, fans will be able to experience Bond’s ascent at MI6 from a recruit into a fully-fledged spy, as his sharp instincts, resourcefulness, and heroism propel him through the ranks and into the world of high-stakes covert operations.”
007 First Light is a third-person stealth sandbox game. Patrick Gibson portrays James Bond in the game, with a supporting voice cast that includes Gemma Chan, Lenny Kravitz, Priyanga Burford, and Alastair McKenzie.
The game features an original theme song by Lana Del Rey and David Arnold. It has received an 88 OpenCritic rating and an 87 Metacritic score. IO Interactive developed 007 First Light in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios.
