BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Darius Crawford on Wednesday following an assault investigation that originated from a reported firearm-related incident on Drusilla Lane. Officers responded to the scene and launched an inquiry that led them to the residence of 32-year-old Crawford.
During a search of Crawford’s residence, police seized a wide array of controlled substances. The items included 85 packs of THC gummies and edibles, 33 cases of liquid THC vapes, 63 cartridges of liquid cannabis, and 36 THC vape pens. Officers also confiscated 1.1 pounds of marijuana and 20 chocolate bars containing psilocybin.
Additional drugs recovered during the operation included MDMA ecstasy, alprazolam, amphetamine, dextroamphetamine, oxycodone pills, cocaine, and suspected psilocybin mushrooms. Authorities also seized four firearms from the property.
Crawford was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He faces multiple counts of manufacturing, distribution, or possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, II, and IV controlled substances. He also faces charges of illegal carrying of a firearm in connection with controlled dangerous substances.
The investigation began after officers responded to a reported assault involving a firearm on Drusilla Lane, according to police records.
