DENVER — Jake McCarthy hit a two-run home run and had two RBI singles in the Colorado Rockies' 8-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night in Denver. McCarthy also stole a base and scored three runs in the game.

McCarthy homered to center field in the fourth inning, giving the Rockies an early lead. He followed that with RBI singles in the fifth and seventh innings, extending Colorado’s advantage.

The Rockies recorded 14 hits in the game, capitalizing on scoring opportunities throughout the lineup. Ryan Feltner pitched six innings for Colorado, allowing four hits and throwing 63 pitches, 41 of which were strikes. Feltner returned to the mound after being placed on the injured list on April 24 due to right ulnar nerve inflammation.

Adrian Houser took the loss for the Giants after pitching 3 2/3 innings. He gave up eight hits and four earned runs.

McCarthy’s performance marked his first multi-hit game of the season with multiple RBIs. He became the first Rockies player this season to record three RBIs in a single game via extra-base and base hits combined. His home run was the second of the season for him and the first at Coors Field in 2024.

The Giants managed three runs on eight hits but left seven runners on base. Their offense struggled against Colorado’s bullpen after Houser exited in the fourth inning. The Rockies improved to 12-18 at home this season with the win.
